Proterozoic OZSEEBASE

The OZ SEEBASE™ Proterozoic Basins Study has expanded the 'original' OZ SEEBASE™ Study to include the major, relatively undeformed and unmetamorphosed Neoarchaean and Proterozoic Australian Basins. The study includes a SEEBASE™(depth-to-basement) surface for all major Neoarchaean to Recent basins, all datasets that were used to interpret and calibrate this surface, derivative layers such as sediment and basement thickness, and interpreted faults, attributed with e.g. movement direction and age.

The OZ SEEBASE™ Proterozoic Basins Study was carried out by FrOG Tech for Geoscience Australia and the surveys of Western Australia, the Northern Territory, South Australia and Queensland. It was completed in June 2006 and is now available in the Public Domain.

The OZ SEEBASE™ Proterozoic Basins Product includes a GIS and a report. The GIS was created in ArcMap version 9.0, and can be viewed with the free ArcReader by non-ArcGIS users. The GIS is also available in MapInfo version 8.5.
