Summary

Phil specialises in  the design and implementation of geologically focused information systems and GIS for the earth science industries. At FrOG Tech, Phil has lead the development of a flexible data management system encompassing all of the data required for efficient basin analysis from regional to permit scale. This has allowed FrOG Tech to work all over the world, at all scales, while retaining a global, geologically consistent knowledge base for clients.

FrOG Tech's data management framework is flexible in handling the quantity and variability inherent in geoscience datasets. Our processing workflows are well documented and automated to be able to effectively handle geoscience datasets as they iterate and improve over time.

Phil is currently focused on building a suite of custom designed, intuitive tools for geologists including FACTS, Section Sketch and PaleoArc.  Based on FrOG Tech's data management and geological knowledge, these tools provide a simple, flexible interface for the management, intergration, visualisation and analysis of a wide range of geoscience datasets .

 FrOG Tech are now investing in the devleopment of GIS systems for better handling and analysis of spatial data in the geothermal, groundwater and CCS sectors.

Previous Achievements

  • management of data and client liason for large, regional and multi-client studies across the world including the North Atlantic, North Africa and Australia

  • Designed and implemented workflows supporting rapid basin evaluation and SEEBASE using both Mapinfo and ESRI ArcGIS.
  • Design and coding of internal project management software including workflow, timesheets, financial reporting and integration with GIS
  • Transition from Mapinfo to ESRI ArcGIS
  • Company-wide transition to digital GIS.
