Frogtech chosen to deliver 3D geological models for $42.5M Victorian Gas Program

Frogtech Geoscience has been selected by the Department of Economic Development, Jobs Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) to deliver 3D Geological Models of the Otway Basin in Victoria Australia as part of the Victorian Government's $42.SMn Victorian Gas Program with a contract value to Frogtech Geoscience of A$1.6M.

The Victorian Gas Program will run from 2017 to mid-2020. It will deliver a comprehensive program of geoscience and environmental studies and related activities, including resource planning and regulatory improvements for onshore conventional gas, offshore gas and underground gas storage.

The program will look closely at Victoria's gas prospectivity and the issues associated with gas exploration and development to inform future decisions by the Victorian Government.

Frogtech Geoscience will leverage its proprietary SEEBASE® methodology to deliver a 3- dimensional geological model for the Victorian Otway Basin, using previously collected, publicly available geological datasets, and incorporating relevant data from other geoscience and environmental studies associated with the Victorian Gas Program. The model will comprise a comprehensive regional stratigraphic and structural framework within which the onshore and offshore Otway Basin's conventional gas resources can be assessed. The 3D geological model will provide an essential foundation for addressing the risks, impacts and benefits of conventional gas exploration.
