FrOG Tech's Global Bouguer Gravity Grid includes reprocessed, stitched data from three major gravity datasets to create a high quality Bouguer Gravity dataset of the globe.
The global dataset is available now for USD$5000. Please contact us for more information
Background
FT has processed the Global Satellite Free-Air Gravity, ArcGP and GSC datasets and compiled one complete Global Bouguer Gravity Grid. The grid (with density 2.67g/cc onshore, 2.20g/cc offshore & 0.90g/cc ice cover for Iceland & Greenland) has a cell size of 2km.
Each dataset has been processed individually to remove artefacts in the grids and calculate the merged (onshore and offshore) Bouguer gravity grid. The resulting grids were later stitched together to generate one complete global Bouguer Gravity coverage.
Re-processing of the input datasets was done in order to reduce noise and levelling problems observed in the data. Noise and local artefacts have been identified with the use of the first vertical derivative (1VD) filter which is typically used to highlight near surface features. Decorrugation techniques have been applied where necessary to reduce micro-levelling effects.
