The Offshore Argentina and Falkland Islands SEEBASE® Multi-client Study and GIS is an integrated geological and geophysical study of basement and basin evolution on the Argentine Shelf.
The study constrains the timing and structural context for Triassic to Early Cretaceous basin development prior to and during continental rifting of the South Atlantic Ocean. This new framework for basin evolution will inform exploration strategy and reduce investment risk in the unexplored and underexplored Argentina and Falklands regions.
The study also provides the first continuous 3D depth-to-basement interpretation of the Argentine Shelf and rifted margin. This interpretation framework can accommodate integration of proprietary client datasets including higher resolution gravity and magnetic data, well data, and seismic interpretation to further customise and upgrade the model in areas of interest.
COMPREHENSIVE STUDY DELIVERABLES
Basement Geology: Analysis and description of basement terranes, assessment of terrane boundaries, and interpretation of basement composition.
Tectonostratigraphic History: Plate reconstructions and summary of key tectonic events; implications for basin development, interpreted of major basement faults, and fault event maps for key events.
Depth-to-basement Model - SEEBASE: 3D geometry and depth of the basement surface highlighting basin depocentres and highs.

What is SEEBASE?
SEEBASE® is an interpreted depth-to-basement model that is the result of a number of calibration and integration steps:
Interpretation of Basement Terranes
Review and Update of Plate Reconstructions
Integration of Tectonic Events and Responses
Gravity and Magnetics Modelling
Assessment and Integration of Crustal Architecture
Seismic and Well Calibration
Extensive Literature Review
SEEBASE defines basin architecture and results in improved:
•Play and prospect risking
•Bid round planning and management
